This clean-up effort is part of a growing movement to reclaim and restore Pocahontas Island. The photos below are from OCR Community Empowerment Group’s first organized clean-up, held on March 8th in partnership with the City of Petersburg and dedicated community advocates. Together, we removed debris, cleared overgrowth, and took the first steps toward revitalizing the Appomattox River Trail. These moments reflect the heart of our mission—empowering residents to create safer, more vibrant spaces for all.
